Easy in, easy out, and a wave from the office.
Prairie Winds isn't fancy — it's friendly. We're a family-run park on the meadowlands outside Willow Bend, and we've built the kind of place we'd want to pull into after a long day of driving: level sites, honest prices, clean showers, and someone at the office who's genuinely glad you made it.
No maze of rules, no surprise fees. Just room to spread out, a good night's sleep under a big Kansas sky, and a spot the whole family — dogs included — can call home for a night or a season.
A spot for every rig.
Rolling in with a forty-footer or pitching a tent for the weekend — there's a grassy, level site here with your name on it.

Folks feel right at home.
"Pulled in tired at dusk and the owner walked us right to our site with a flashlight. Level, roomy, quiet as could be. This is how a park should feel."
"The kids didn't want to leave — playground, dog run, and a fire ring where we met the nicest neighbors. Cleanest showers we found all summer."
"Honest prices and a real person who answers the phone. We stayed one night on our way through and booked a week on the way back. Worth every mile."
Everything, out in the open.
No fine print and nothing to click through — just straight answers to what folks ask us most.
What size rigs can you take?
All of them. Our pull-through sites handle big rigs up to 45 feet and beyond with 30/50-amp full hookups, and there's plenty of room to get in and out without a three-point turn. Back-in sites fit trailers and fifth-wheels up to about 35 feet, and the meadow tent area welcomes everything from a pop-up to a two-person tent. Tell us your length when you book and we'll set you on a site that fits comfortably.
Are you open year-round?
We are — all four seasons. Summer is our busy, family-filled stretch with the playground and fire ring going every night. Spring and fall are gorgeous and quieter, perfect for a peaceful stopover. Winter is calm and wide-open, and we keep the bathhouse heated and the water running for snowbirds and cross-country travelers. Ask about our monthly and long-stay rates if you're settling in for a while.
Are pets welcome?
Always, and they stay free. We've got a big fenced pet run where the dogs can stretch off-leash, and they're welcome at your site and around the park on a leash. Just clean up after them and don't leave them alone at the site for long. A couple of breeds are restricted by our insurance — the short list is at the office if you're ever unsure.
How do I book, and what's the deposit?
Tap the Reserve button or give us a call and we'll confirm what's open. A one-night deposit holds your reservation, and the balance is due when you arrive. Summer weekends and holidays fill up first, so the earlier you reach out the better your pick of sites. No long forms, no booking fees — just a quick note and a friendly reply, usually the same day.
Is there a store, or should we stock up in town?
We keep a little camp store at the office with ice, firewood, snacks, and the camp basics you forgot to pack, plus propane fills right here — no drive into town needed. For a full grocery run, downtown Willow Bend is about five minutes up the road with a market, a hardware store, fuel, and a good diner.
What are check-in and quiet hours?
Check-in is 1:00pm and check-out is 11:00am, though we'll almost always flex if a site's open. Rolling in late? Just call ahead and we'll leave your site number and a map at the office — the loop is simple to find in the dark. Quiet hours run 10:00pm to 7:00am so everyone gets a good night's sleep under the stars.
Short and friendly.
A handful of neighborly rules that keep the park calm, clean, and comfortable for everybody.
Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in 1:00pm, check-out 11:00am. Arriving late? Call ahead and we'll leave your site and a map at the office.
Deposits & Cancellation
A one-night deposit holds your spot; balance due at arrival. Cancel 3+ days ahead for a full refund of the deposit.
Quiet Hours
Quiet from 10:00pm to 7:00am. Generators off during quiet hours — nearly every site has power anyway.
Pets
Leashed around the park, free in the fenced run, and always cleaned up after. A few breeds are insurance-restricted.
Fires & Firewood
Fires in the rings only, and only when there's no county burn ban. Buy firewood at the office — please don't bring your own.
Speed & Kids
5 mph on the loop, always. There are children, dogs, and folks walking to the showers — take it slow.
Visitors
Day guests are welcome — just have them check in at the office first and park in the visitor spots by the entrance.
Leave It Nice
Pack out your trash, keep your site tidy, and leave the grass the way you'd want to find it. That's the whole deal.
Let's get you a site.
Tell us your dates and your rig and we'll match you to the right spot. A real person reads every note — usually one of the family — and we'll get right back to you, most often the same day.
