FAQ

Questions? Good.
Straight answers, no runaround.

The short version of everything campground owners ask us.

What exactly is Compass?
One dashboard that does the work of the digital team an independent campground can't afford to hire. Eight modules cover your brand, social media, graphics, guest communications, campaigns, operations docs, guest activities, insights, and local-area marketing — all loaded with your brand and voice, all driven by you.
Does it replace my reservation system?
No — and it never will. Bookings, guest records, and occupancy stay right where they are, in the reservation system you already use. Compass handles everything digital around it: the marketing, the words, the design.
Will it post to my social media without me?
Never. Nothing posts, sends, or publishes without your review and approval. Compass drafts, designs, and suggests — you decide. Every step has a visible decision point. Your brand, your call, always.
Do I need to be good with computers?
If you can run your reservation system, you can run this. We also set the entire account up for you before you ever log in, then train you on it live — you're never handed software and left alone with it.
What does onboarding include?
We build your account by hand: we interview you about your park, capture your voice, load your logo, colors, and real photos, build your local-area content, connect your accounts, and train you. Two setups — Essential if you already have a brand we load in, or Branded if we design your brand from scratch first. Details on the Pricing page.
How long does setup take?
It depends mostly on how quickly we get your photos, logins, and brand assets. We'll give you a real timeline on the kickoff call — and we don't go live until it actually sounds like you.
What does it cost?
Compass is $197/month plus a one-time setup — $497 Essential if you bring your own brand, or $997 Branded if we design it for you. A campground website starts at $497 one-time — more customization than the template means more conversation, and more price. Every website we build runs on one of two care plans, required — Essential Web Care at $37/month or Managed Web Care at $87/month. Compass and the care plans can each be paid annually, with two months free. No hourly billing, no surprise invoices. Full details on the Pricing page.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Compass and the monthly care plans are month to month — cancel whenever you like. Annual care plans run through the year you've paid for. One thing to know: your website lives on its care plan, so if you cancel care entirely, we'll hand you your content, photos, and brand assets — they're always yours — and retire the site. No hostage-taking, ever.
Do you build websites too?
Yes. Pick one of six proven campground templates, we brand it to your property, write and load your content, and launch it on your domain in days. See the Campground Websites page for the templates.
I already have a website. Do I need yours?
No. Your website and Compass are separate — Compass runs your marketing, social, and guest communications no matter who built your site or where it lives. And if you ever want an upgrade, our campground website templates and Managed Web Care are ready when you are.
Who's behind Waypoints?
Traci and Greg Webel — full-time RVers who managed a 180-site RV resort for just shy of four years and built its entire digital operation from nothing. Campground operators who built software, not a tech company that discovered campgrounds. The whole story is on Our Story.
What happens when I save my spot?
You're on the list. As Compass approaches launch, waitlist parks hear from us first — a personal walkthrough of a fully loaded campground, every module working, so you see exactly what a digital team feels like before you spend a dime.
