Waypoints Digital is run by two people — Traci and Greg Webel — not a faceless company, and we treat your information the way we’d want ours treated. This page explains what we collect when you visit waypointsdigital.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. Plain language, no runaround.

Who we are

Waypoints Digital LLC (“Waypoints,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Washington limited liability company that operates the website at waypointsdigital.com. If you ever want to reach a real person about your privacy, email us at connect@waypointsdigital.com.

What we collect

Information you give us.When you fill out our contact form, we collect what you type in: your name, your campground or resort name, your email address, your phone number (if you choose to share it), and the message you send us. You’re in control of this — we only get what you decide to enter.

Information collected automatically.Like most websites, ours uses analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Through Google Analytics, we automatically collect things like your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or search that sent you here. This is aggregate, behind-the-scenes information — it helps us make the site better. It is not tied to your name unless you’ve also contacted us.

Cookies.Our site uses cookies and similar technologies, mostly for analytics. You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. See the “Cookies and analytics” section below for more.

How we use your information

We use what we collect to:

• Respond to your questions and demo requests
• Follow up with you about Waypoints products and services you’ve asked about
• Send you marketing emails or a newsletter — but only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe anytime (see “Email” below)
• Understand how the site is performing and improve it
• Keep the site secure and working properly
• Meet any legal obligations we have

We do notsell your personal information. We’re a two-person business selling software to campground owners — your data isn’t a product to us.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. We use them primarily to run Google Analytics, which tells us things like which pages are popular and how people navigate the site. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when one is being sent; some parts of the site may work differently if you do. To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, Google offers a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Advertising cookie.We also use the Meta (Facebook) pixel on this site. It tells us which pages brought people in and lets us show our own ads to visitors who have already been here — that’s advertising to you about Waypoints, not selling your information to anyone. Opting out above, or sending a Global Privacy Control signal, stops it along with our analytics. You can also control ad personalization in your Facebook ad preferences.

How we share information

We keep your information close. We share it only in these limited situations:

• Service providers.We use trusted third-party services to run our business — for example, our website host, our email and analytics providers (including Google), and our email marketing platform. They only get what they need to do their job, and they’re bound to protect it.
• Legal reasons. If the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or property, we may disclose information to authorities.
• Business changes. If Waypoints Digital is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer as part of that — but this policy would still govern it.

How Compass uses Google and Meta account data

This section covers Compass, our software product, rather than this website. It applies when you use Compass and choose to connect an advertising account to it.

When you connect your Google or Meta (Facebook) account to Compass, you’re giving Compass permission to help you create and manage advertising in your own Google Ads and Meta ad accounts. You stay in control — nothing publishes and no budget is spent until you review and approve it. You can disconnect either account at any time, which revokes Compass’s access, and you can ask us to delete the data associated with that connection.

Google user data (Limited Use).Compass’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

• We only use your Google data to provide and improve the advertising features you’ve asked Compass to perform.
• We do not sell your Google data, and we do not use it to serve advertising of our own.
• We do not transfer your Google data to anyone except as needed to provide these features with your consent, to comply with the law, or in connection with a merger or acquisition.
• We do not let humans read your Google data unless you’ve given us permission (for example, to fix a problem you’ve reported), it’s necessary for security, or the law requires it.

Meta (Facebook) data.When you connect Meta, we access your ad account only to build and place the ads you’ve approved, and we follow Meta’s Platform Terms and Developer Policies. We don’t sell this data or use it for our own advertising.

Not affiliated. Compass connects to Google and Meta through their official APIs. Waypoints Digital is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google or Meta.

Email and your choices

If you sign up for our emails or newsletter, every message we send includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor it. We also include our mailing address in marketing emails, as the law requires. Replying to a demo request or inquiry doesn’t automatically sign you up for marketing — those are separate.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct or delete it
• Ask us to stop using it for marketing
• Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

To make any of these requests, just email connect@waypointsdigital.com and tell us what you’d like. We’ll respond within the timeframe the law requires. We may need to verify your identity first, to make sure we’re not handing your information to someone else.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it — to answer your questions, maintain our business records, or meet legal requirements. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website or internet transmission is ever 100% secure. We can’t promise perfect security, and you share information with us understanding that small risk.

Children’s privacy

Our site is meant for campground and RV resort owners and operators — grown-ups running a business. It isn’t directed to children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Links to other sites

Our site may link to other websites we don’t control. This policy only covers Waypoints Digital. When you click through to another site, read their privacy policy too.

Changes to this policy

As our business grows and privacy laws change, we may update this policy. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
